Preparing for Your Child's Appointment
We know a new diagnosis or ongoing low blood sugar concerns can feel overwhelming. Our team works closely with families to make the process easier.
Support Before Your Visit
A dedicated nurse coordinator becomes a primary contact for families early in the process. Our nurse coordinator:
- Reviews your child's history
- Schedules clinic visits
- Arranges fasting studies when needed
- Provides education and answers questions
During Your Appointment
Your child's visit may include:
- Discussion of symptoms and medical history
- Review of blood glucose measurements and previous testing
- Evaluation by hypoglycemia specialists
- Recommendations for additional testing or treatment
- Education about blood sugar management
Because every child is different, the team creates an individualized care plan based on your child's needs. We strongly believe that personalized care is essential in managing each child's low glucose.
Education and Training
Families receive hands-on instruction when needed. The nurse coordinator provides teaching for:
- Blood glucose meters
- Continuous glucose monitors (CGMs)
- Glucagon use
- Home management strategies
