Specialized care for our youngest patients with IBD
Very Early Onset Inflammatory Bowel Disease (VEO-IBD) happens when a child develops IBD before the age of 6. In some children, symptoms begin even before age 2 (called infantile IBD). VEO-IBD accounts for 6-15% of all pediatric IBD.
These children often face unique challenges: their disease may be more severe, harder to treat, or linked to changes in the immune system or genetics. That’s why they need a team who understands the complexity of their condition.
