The Asthma Center in the Division of Pulmonary Medicine at Cincinnati Children's is a leader in improving and providing comprehensive, preventative and personalized care to children and adolescents with asthma. We partner with the Divisions of Allergy and Immunology, General Pediatrics, and Pulmonary Medicine in the development and implementation of clinical and research initiatives. The Asthma Center and our partners develop novel, integrated systems of care that extend across, and ultimately beyond, Cincinnati Children’s.
Our goal is to improve the health of children with asthma by:
- Tracking variability in performance
- Implementing improvement projects
- Developing methods to spread innovations around care delivery and research to patients, families and providers.
We are improving outcomes for asthmatic children by providing the best possible care through the acquisition and application of new discoveries.
The clinical space at all Asthma Center sites includes exam rooms, as well as space for obtaining vital signs, a waiting room and a fully-equipped pulmonary function testing laboratory, which is immediately adjacent to the clinical space. Each exam room is equipped with a computer and internet access for use with our electronic health record and other electronic data collection and decision support tools.
