Summer Camp FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Summer camp can be an exciting time for your child, but you may have questions or concerns. Please read through some of our frequently asked questions and answers. If you have additional questions or concerns, contact us.

Who May Attend?

Any child or adolescent with arthritis or a related condition who has completed the first grade through high school graduation may attend.

May We Visit or Call?

To safeguard the privacy of all campers and to foster camper independence, visits and phone calls are not permitted during the camp session. If a camper must be contacted, the parent or guardian should call the rheumatology physician on call through the Cincinnati Children’s operator at 513-636-4200 or 1-800-344-2462, ext. 4200. You will be connected with the physician at Camp Wekandu.

How Do We Register?

To register, a parent or guardian must complete an application. Places will be reserved based on when we receive the application and registration fee. Required medical forms will be sent to you to complete after the application form is received. Make an appointment with the camper’s physician as soon as possible so that he or she can provide up-to-date medical information and input regarding camper activity.
