About

Biography

As a pediatric cardiologist, I practice general clinical cardiology as well as fetal cardiology. I treat children, adolescents and young adults who have congenital heart disease, syncope, chest pain and other issues. I also interpret echocardiography and fetal echocardiography imaging tests. I serve as the medical director for both Outpatient Services and Consult Services.

I have always loved medicine and always knew I wanted to be a pediatrician. I come from a long line of teachers, and interacting with children always came easily to me. My interest in cardiology is related to my love of physics, math and photography – the heart just makes sense to me.

My practice and my philosophy of care are all about putting patients and their families at the center of care. I believe in speaking to children at their level. As they become adults, I help them transition into being their own caretakers. I make myself available to families whenever they have questions, often answering MyChart questions whenever they pop up. I also believe in bringing care as close to the family as possible, such as with a mobile care clinic.

I strive to be friendly and available to my patients and their families, and I’m honored to have been on Cincinnati Magazine’s Best Doctors list since the first year after my fellowship.

In addition to helping my patients, I’m engaged in research. Most of my research time is spent on clinic processes and standardization of care. The goal is to make sure patients see a consistent approach across many different providers and get good value of care.

Outside the hospital, I enjoy spending time with my family. I’m a father of three, an avid salt-water fisherman and a Green Bay Packers fanatic.
