I specialize in pediatrics with a particular focus on the baby and toddler years. Having young children, I’m very interested in baby and toddler development and can better counsel parents having gone through it myself.
I became a pediatrician because I had some health issues when I was very young. I remember my parents talking about the doctors who cared for me, and that always resonated with me. In medical school, I found pediatrics to be so interesting since we get to see patients from when they are newborns to young adults.
How I work with parents is through shared medical decisions. Families are a part of the care team. There’s some black and white in medicine but there’s also a lot that’s gray area, so I involve them in the decision-making process as much as possible.
I enjoy caring for kids and families because kids are so unique. My favorite part of being a physician is watching children grow from babies to young adults as I get to care for them. Another thing I like about pediatrics is that a lot of it is preventative care and we get to see well kids and keep them well, catching disease early before it gets too far.
I am married, and we have two boys who keep us busy!
