My clinical specialties are pediatric endocrinology and diabetes. Every patient is unique, and many factors contribute to why they seek care and how that care is received. My goal is to approach each patient with a good understanding of what makes them unique and then treat them with the specialized care they deserve.
I deeply respect the quality of care provided at Cincinnati Children's. This institution inspired me to pursue pediatrics as a medical student, trained me as a resident, and now shapes me as a pediatrician. I’m amazed by the relationship that pediatric endocrinologists have with their patients. They inspire a genuine sense of trust, mentorship and teamwork, unmatched by any other field or subspecialty of medicine I have experienced.
I admire an endocrinologist's ability to integrate themselves into a patient's ongoing medical care and childhood development. Further, they serve as a vital partner for every other department within the hospital. Whether it be a diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) patient in the intensive care unit (ICU), an infant with hypoglycemia in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), or a patient in surgery that requires steroid management, endocrinology touches every aspect of pediatric medicine.
I'm honored to be a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband John, and our dog, Tui. We love to travel — exploring different parts of the world and visiting my family in Taiwan.
