I am a pediatric cardiologist with special interest in single ventricle heart disease. With this condition, one of the two heart chambers that pump blood isn’t formed properly. I also have expertise in cardiac imaging including transthoracic, transesophageal and fetal echocardiography.
I was inspired to pursue my career by my father, who was in pediatrics. I often went to the hospital with him when I was growing up, and I wanted to help the sick children.
In my practice we always work as a team, and patients almost never get just one doctor’s opinion. I take the time to thoroughly explain our diagnosis and treatment plan. I believe that patients and families deserve to know the reasons behind my recommendations. It is their health, and the more they understand about their condition the better their choices will be.
In addition to patient care, I’m involved in research. I’m working to understand the differences between outcomes in similar patients, and between different institutions.
In my spare time, I am an avid runner. I have competed in the Olympic trials and have run more than 20 marathons.
