I am a nurse practitioner and pioneered the acute care pediatric nurse practitioner role in the CICU at Cincinnati Children’s. I now serve as advanced practice provider (APP) clinical manager for both the CICU and the Acute Care Cardiology Unit. I remain actively involved in the bedside care of neonates, children and adults with congenital and acquired heart disease.
My academic interests include the development and sustainability of CICU APP teams, professional growth and clinical advancement for APPs, improving teamwork and communication in the CICU, and feeding strategies for patients with complex congenital heart disease. I served on the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society (PCICS) Board of Directors from 2017 to 2025, including terms as treasurer, vice president and president.
I also co-chaired the development and implementation of the PCICS advanced practice provider curriculum, which includes a published book, multiple annual in-person curriculum review courses and an advanced bootcamp for experienced CICU clinicians.
