I am a child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist working with individuals aged 0 to 18 in a confidential, evidence-based and results-oriented way. I help children and teens with their feelings and explore their behaviors while focusing on their strengths and future growth.
My psychodynamic psychotherapy background helps me see how a patient's way of relating to others can perpetuate their illness. Knowing this helps us understand the child more deeply. This understanding can then help the parent, guardian, teacher or other caring adult bring about change in the child’s behavior.
The ups and downs of parenting a child with mental illness can seem challenging, hopeless or impossible. There are many ways to parent. I am open to hearing ideas and do not judge. My interest lay In the emotional well-being of the child, the parent, and their relationship and success.
If indicated, I will prescribe medication to help a child's suffering or maladaptive behavior while also developing a relationship with them. My experience helps me understand what's happening in the child's mind and informs my medication decisions and recommendations.
