The Cincinnati Children’s Headache Center has been accredited by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties (UCNS) to train two fellows per year in headache medicine. The field includes the diagnosis and treatment of head and face pain and includes primary and secondary diseases causing head and face pain, thus encompassing multiple specialty areas. The headache medicine fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s is open to all practitioners interested in the treatment of headache patients including primary care physicians, pediatricians, internists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, otolaryngologists, rehabilitation medicine specialists, oromaxillofacial surgeons and psychiatrists.

Our program is one of only 11 in the United States and the only pediatric program to be recognized by the UCNS. Headache medicine has been recognized as a subspecialty by the five founding organizations of the UCNS: American Academy of Neurology, American Neurological Association, Association of University Professors of Neurology, Child Neurology Society and Professors of Child Neurology.
