Cincinnati Children's has impressive presence at Pediatric Academic Society annual meeting
Faculty and staff from Cincinnati Children’s attended the annual Pediatric Academic Society (PAS) meeting held May 5-7 in Toronto, Canada. At this year’s PAS, there were an impressive 353 presentations from Cincinnati Children’s faculty and staff in the form of platform presentations, posters, speeches and workshops.
Twenty-seven faculty members represented Cincinnati Children’s in the exhibit booth by sharing their expertise and building relationships with conference attendees during exhibit hours. Faculty engaged with attendees by discussing strategic and targeted materials about Cincinnati Children’s research, divisions and recruitment.
Over the course of the three-day event, more than 1,100 conference attendees visited the booth to meet our experts. A host of materials was available in hard copy and electronically, and attendees were encouraged to try virtual reality firsthand. Tom Boat, MD, also received special recognition as this year’s John Howland Award winner.
Cincinnati Children’s hosted an Alumni and Friends Reception on Saturday, May 5, with a record-breaking crowd of more than 150 Cincinnati Children’s alumni, staff and former employees. Guests enjoyed a Cinco de Mayo-themed menu, with a Canadian-inspired dessert bar. The evening was hosted by Tom DeWitt, MD, director, General and Community Pediatrics; Derek Wheeler, MD, Chief of Staff; and Sue Poynter, MD, director, Pediatric Residency Training Program.
