ONI 1.5T MRI scanner

The ONI MR scanner installed in the IRC was originally designed for adult orthopedic use. The scanner has been modified for usage as a development platform for neonatal MRI. The scanner has a gradient set which is capable of 70 mT/m gradient pulses with a slew rate of 300 T/m/s. The system has three sets of imaging electronics: conventional ONI orthopedic imaging electronics, a fully integrated GE HDx system with eight receive channels, and a Philips Ingenia™ system. Switching between imaging systems can be accomplished with a single button push. The ONI lab is a BSL-2 capable facility.
