Morgan Schmalz, MSN, APRN-CNP

I’m a nurse practitioner working in the Division of Allergy and Immunology. I worked for four years as a registered nurse in the inpatient Specialty Resource Unit (SRU) and as a floating nurse in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and acute care units.

My background in critical care has prepared me for a fast-paced environment in the Division of Allergy and Immunology. It has aided in my assessment of patients with potentially life-threatening allergic reactions.

I've always loved working with young children at Cincinnati Children's, but I wanted to do more. So, I pushed myself to learn more and incorporate evidence-based allergy research and literature into my practice.

I’m excited to get to know my patients and their families, answer their questions and provide the best care possible. My goal is to ensure that patients and families have the knowledge they need to successfully identify and treat food allergies, environmental allergies, eczema and asthma.

In my free time, I love to take my two dogs hiking.
