What Patients & Families Need to Know about COVID-19
Cincinnati Children's will provide guidelines, recommendations and updates to our patients and families about the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19). We will add information, so check back often to this page.
What to Expect as You Start Coming Back for In-Person Appointments
As more families return to our facilities for in-person appointments, review these policies that may be new since you were here last:
- Please do not bring siblings or other children under 18 years old to the medical center if they do not have an appointment. We know there will be special circumstances, and we will help you navigate those situations. Read visiting policy.
- Every person who enters a facility must go through screening. If you are going to an outpatient appointment, you can be screened at registration. If you are going to Burnet Campus, there are screening stations you can go through. This is where you will answer a few questions about any symptoms. At Liberty Campus, inpatient families will be screened on your inpatient unit. Masks are available in mask dispensers or tables near entrances. Learn more about screening.
- Every family member must wear a mask while visiting our facilities, starting from the time you exit your vehicle. Appropriate masks are required for entry. If you’re wearing a mask made from a loosely woven fabric like lace or hosiery, you MUST wear a provided hospital mask. We understand that some patients will not be able to wear a mask, and we will not require children under 2 to wear one. Any adult non-patient who refuses to wear a mask will be asked to leave the facility. Learn more about masking.
All of these policies are in place to help keep healthy people healthy. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
