CPS update

CPS members enjoying the FC Cincinnati game (l-r): Laurie Holubeck, Paul Bunch, Joe Leanza and Ellen Kellogg.The Cincinnati Pediatric Society was well represented at the June 30th FC Cincinnati game against the Ottawa Fury. Almost 100 members turned out for the outing at Nippert Stadium. The weather was great, and the FCC won!

On July 10, CPS sponsored Grand Rounds. Johnathan Ross, MD, from the University of Toledo/St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, and Mike Taylor, vice president of Revenue Cycle Management at Cincinnati Children’s, presented on the topic of single payor health systems. CPS has also been working to support the passage of HB559 in the Ohio House that strengthens requirements for vaccines among school children.  

The Annual Lyon Lecture is scheduled for September 18 at 8 am in the Sabin Auditorium. Jim Duffee, MD, MPH, from Dayton Children’s, will speak about trauma-informed care. He will also present at a noon conference that day on resident wellness.

The next CME dinner will feature Jilda Vargas Adams, MD, MSc, director, Cerebral Palsy Clinic, giving an update on the condition. Watch this space for more details.
