The Humanized
Mouse Resource (HMR) is a comprehensive resource facility that provides a full range
of xenograft mouse strains and services.
The HMR is committed to facilitating
and promoting translational research involving viable primary human tissues.
Our resource offers umbilical cord blood, mobilized peripheral blood and adult
whole bone marrow stem cells from healthy donors in coordination with the Translational Core Labs. Other cell types can be
provided by arrangement. We offer access to an immunomagnetic cell sorter
(Miltenyi AutoMacs). Expertise in primary human hematopoietic stem / progenitor
and leukemic cell culture and manipulation is available.
The HMR offers a
unique combination of animal services and mouse strains to assist in the
generation of humanized mouse models to fit various needs. The HMR is available
to assist in the molecular analysis of xenografted cells in vivo and will
support the development of new strains of mice as well as new therapeutic
approaches (pharmacologic and/or cell-based) that could lead to translational
Phase I and II studies.
The HMR will facilitate the sharing of expertise and
promote interaction among investigators utilizing the HMR.
