Participating in Genomic Research or Donating to a Biobank

Genomic research is critical for scientists to learn about the ways to prevent, diagnose, treat, and cure diseases. That’s why researchers always need volunteers who are interested in participating in research studies.

But whether you choose to have your child or family participate in a research study or to donate blood or tissue to our Discover Together Biobank is a personal decision.

Often in large studies, individuals don’t receive personal results back. But what is important to know, however, is that your child’s and/or family’s participation will enrich our knowledge and contribute to science. And, that, in the long run, may help many others enjoy healthier lives.
