Specialized Care for Rare and Common Allergy Conditions

The Division of Allergy and Immunology has specialized clinics and closely collaborates with other centers and divisions within Cincinnati Children’s to provide comprehensive and personalized care to our patients. Our collaborative approach to evaluation, consultation, therapy and clinical research studies ensures that our patients receive the benefit of experts in several disciplines, which is important not only for the management of rare disorders (such as eosinophilic disorders, immune deficiency and histiocytic disorders) but also for more common conditions (such as allergies and asthma).

Allergy Clinic

Our division hosts a specialized clinic for patients with allergic conditions, including food allergy.

Infant Food Allergy Clinic (BITE Clinic) 

The Beginning Introduction To Allergens Early (BITE) Clinic specializes in the prevention, early identification and management of food allergy in infants. The BITE Clinic sees infants who may be at high risk for food allergy or who already have food allergies.

Eosinophilia Clinic

Our division hosts a specialized Eosinophilia Clinic for patients with peripheral blood and / or tissue eosinophilia and eosinophilic conditions.

Drug Allergy Program

The Drug Allergy Program diagnoses and treats drug allergies in children in the Greater Cincinnati area and in patients referred nationally. The program offers antibiotic allergy testing services (PATS).

Food Allergy Program

Our Food Allergy Program provides expert care, innovative treatments and cutting-edge research for children for food allergies. This program includes a specialized clinic for standardizing protocols for peanut oral immunotherapy. The division is recognized as a Food Allergy Research and Education (FARE) Clinical Network Center of Excellence.

Immune Deficiency Program

Our division has a Transition and Adult Immunodeficiency Program and partners with the Immune Deficiency and Histiocytosis Program to ensure that diagnosis of immune deficiency will quickly result in expert treatment in younger children.

Our division is an integral contributor to the Cincinnati Center for Eosinophilic Disorders, the international leader in both caring for patients with eosinophilic conditions and researching the cure. The Cincinnati Center for Eosinophilic Disorders has a strong educational mission and contributes to the Cincinnati Children’s blog.
