Guiding Families Through Differences of Sex Development With Expertise and Support
The Differences of Sex Development (DSD) team at Cincinnati Children’s uses an interdisciplinary approach with compassionate care to meet the complex needs of patients diagnosed with differences of sex development. Families often have many questions about diagnosis, treatment and what the future may look like. At Cincinnati Children’s, we help families understand you or your child’s condition and build a clear care plan together.
Our DSD Center cares for children, teens and young adults with conditions such as congenital adrenal hyperplasia, hypospadias, mixed gonadal dysgenesis, androgen insensitivity syndrome and ovotesticular DSD. Our interdisciplinary team includes experts in endocrinology, genetics, gynecology, urology, psychology, social work and bioethics. We work closely together to provide coordinated care that supports you or your child’s physical health, emotional well-being and long-term goals.
As active members of the DSD-Translational Research Network (DSD-TRN), we help improve DSD care nationwide. We also offer advanced genetic testing, fertility preservation research opportunities and personalized treatment planning designed around each patient and family.
