Neonatology Fellowship

The Division of Neonatology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, a part of the Perinatal Institute, offers a three-year fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine, accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). At Cincinnati Children's, all of our world-class fellowships offer ongoing collaboration with mentors and researchers, not only as it relates to your clinical and research activities, but also when helping you plan and develop your career goals.

Through a flexible curriculum that focuses on meeting the career goals of the individual fellow, we are committed to providing a comprehensive fellowship program that offers the best educational, clinical and research experience available to launch a successful academic career in neonatology.

Our program is designed to equip fellows with the education and skills needed to manage a wide range of neonatal diseases and physiology, an awareness of neonatal outcomes, the teaching skills to train others, and the research training that will promote their contribution to the field of neonatology.

Our program aims to increase diversity and representation among the Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine workforce. We work to create equitable conditions for growth and an inclusive learning environment for all. Please read more about our institutional DEI efforts here.

The Division of Neonatology is a leader in our specialty, is ranked #1 in the nation in the 2023-24 list of Best Children’s Hospitals published by U.S. News & World Report. Neonatologists from our division provide clinical coverage and medical leadership for three Cincinnati area Level III newborn intensive care units and seven Level II special care nurseries. In an area with more than 30,000 deliveries per year, this means that fellows are involved in the care of all newborns requiring specialty care in the region.
