What to Expect During Interventional Psychiatry Treatment

Before a child receives interventional psychiatry treatment, we make sure it’s the best option for their care.

To make this decision, our team follows these steps:

  1. Referral: A provider refers a patient to us by completing the referral. The referral includes detailed information about the child and family.
  2. Full evaluation: We call families to schedule an assessment. During the assessment, our multidisciplinary team of providers works with the child and family based on details in the referral. This team may include a psychiatrist, nurse practitioner and a TMS technician.
  3. Treatment: Together, the family and the care team develop a treatment plan. Each treatment plan is unique to the child’s needs. If a child needs interventional psychiatry, non-invasive treatment (that doesn’t require surgery) may include:
