President and CEO Michael Fisher speaks with Brody, a patient who is treated by our specialists for Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

FRIENDS,

Cincinnati Children’s has many Champions.

Champions who celebrate successes with us – from hitting that five-year cancer-free mark to the discovery of a new gene therapy that could eradicate a disease. Champions who help us advocate for children and advance knowledge to improve child health. And champions who donate to help us care for all children in our community, and advance discovery to improve treatments for children everywhere.

In this issue of For the Children, you will read about some amazing Cincinnati Children’s Champions. You’ll hear from Carson, a bright and witty 7-year-old who is able to celebrate his gifts to help sick and injured children at the medical center, despite living with a devastating skin condition. You’ll learn how our researchers are advocating for children with reading disabilities by changing the game in how these conditions are diagnosed and treated. And you will see – once again – how all of these successes have been made possible because of the partnership of friends and supporters, like you.

I hope I can count on you to continue to support the important work that goes on across the medical center. Your partnership and advocacy within your circles will help us continue to build our team of champions. What we will achieve for children and families – here in Cincinnati and beyond – we will achieve together.

Take good care,
