Each year, our lab makes two to four student positions available to allow graduate and exceptional undergraduate students to experience psychology research in a pediatric academic medical setting.
Our team’s objective during your experience is to expand your research interests and skills and enhance your educational development. These positions are unpaid. Instead, students work in our lab for course credits.
Students in our lab participate in a number of research activities including training in regulatory requirements in research (HIPPA, institutional review board regulations), editing and formatting new measures, editing manuscripts, data collection, data management and family and participant correspondence. Volunteers also attend monthly lab meetings in which they learn basic research methods, details about research projects being conducted in the lab and the psychological aspects of a variety of pediatric medical conditions.
All students must complete the process to obtain a hospital badge, which identifies them and gives them access to hospital areas. This process takes about one month and must be completed before starting. If you are interested in being a student in our lab, please contact us.
