Neurodevelopmental Occupational Therapy Research
Neurodevelopmental Occupational Therapy research at Cincinnati Children’s has a strong focus on clinical research designed to generate new knowledge and provide evidence-based interventions that deliver superior care. We collaborate with a variety of other departments including Ophthalmology, Neurology, Rehabilitation Medicine and Cardiology. We have also established research projects with other universities.
Current Research
Our research efforts focus on assessment, intervention efficacy and dosing in four thematic areas including:
- Therapeutic interventions to improve participation and daily activity outcomes in children with neurodevelopmental conditions such as cerebral palsy and autism
- Therapeutic interventions to improve the functional outcomes in children with congenital heart disease
- Self-Management in Chronic Care Populations
- Assessment and interventions for children with cortical visual impairment
