Telehealth Consultations

During a telehealth consult, a Cincinnati Children’s specialist will use technology to see and evaluate a patient at another health facility. Our providers work with the provider at the other facility to determine a treatment plan. Telehealth consultations are not held on a regular scheduled basis like our specialty clinics.

Some examples of our frequent patient consultations include:

Liberty Campus Inpatient Telemedicine Consultations

Cincinnati Children's physicians, surgeons and other providers from multiple specialties use telemedicine to round, provide specialty consultations, or respond to an emergent situation at the Cincinnati Children’s Liberty Campus.

NICU Specialty Consultations at Kettering Health - Main Campus

Cincinnati Children's physicians and surgeons, with diverse specialty expertise, provide non-urgent telehealth consultations to patients in the Kettering Health - Main Campus NICU. The goal of these consultations is to supplement the existing Cincinnati Children's neonatal presence at Kettering Health - Main Campus, and expand patient access to Cincinnati Children's specialists.

International Telemedicine Consultations in the Dominican Republic

Providers from a number of specialties provide non-urgent consultations to pediatric patients at the Centro de Obstetricia y Ginecologia in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. These consultations allow the patient’s local treating physician to receive input from specialists for treatment and diagnosis. As a result of these consultations, many of these children are able to be treated effectively in their home country.
