Thrower's Analysis

Thrower’s Analysis to Improve Performance and Prevent Injury

What is thrower's analysis?

The Thrower’s Analysis Clinic at Cincinnati Children's helps baseball and softball players throw more safely and perform at their best. We evaluate strength, flexibility and throwing mechanics to identify issues that could lead to pain, injury or decreased performance. From there, we create a personalized plan with targeted drills and exercises designed to protect the arm and support long-term success.

Our team of physical therapists has years of experience working with throwing athletes—and many have played baseball or softball at a high level themselves. They understand the demands of the sport and combine that firsthand knowledge with expert clinical care to help athletes recover safely, improve mechanics and stay on the field longer.

Who would benefit from thrower's analysis?

  • Injured throwing athletes (e.g., Little League shoulder/elbow, UCL sprains/tears, scapular dysfunction, shoulder and elbow pain, tendon/muscle injuries)
  • Healthy throwers seeking to optimize mechanics and reduce risk
