Cincinnati Children’s offers a two-dimensional video analysis to look at weight lifting form and identify movement problems that may cause pain, increase injury risk or limit strength.

Our expert team includes physical therapists who are certified USA Weight Lifting Sports Performance coaches. They combine deep knowledge of the human anatomy with advanced training in weight lifting techniques to deliver personalized care that helps you improve performance and reduce your risk of injury.

What is the Ready to Play Program?

Our Ready to Play Program is a fee-for-service program designed to help healthy athletes improve lifting technique, enhance performance, and reduce injury risk. We offer two options based on experience level:

Option 1: Learn to Lift

For novice and intermediate lifters (ages 12+, including adults) who want to learn how to correctly perform new lifts:

  • Power lifts: Squat, Deadlift, Bench Press
  • Olympic lifts*: Clean, Jerk, Snatch

*Olympic lifts are highly complex and may not be suited for beginners.

Includes:

  • Musculoskeletal screen
  • Weight lifting drills and exercise prescription
  • 2D slow-motion video analysis (for 90-minute sessions)

Session options:

  • 45-minute session: Learn 1 lift
  • 90-minute session: Learn 2 lifts

Option 2: Refine Your Lift

For highly trained/experienced lifters of any age who want to improve technique and optimize performance in:

  • Power lifts: Squat, Deadlift, Bench Press
  • Olympic lifts: Clean, Jerk, Snatch

Includes:

  • Musculoskeletal screen
  • Weight lifting drills and exercise prescription
  • 2D slow-motion video analysis (for 90-minute sessions)

Session options:
