The Biostatistical Consulting Unit (BCU) is a team of faculty, staff and graduate students within the Division of Biostatistics and Epidemiology (DBE) at Cincinnati Children’s. We offer a full range of statistical consulting services spanning a wide breadth of biomedical research. We also serve as a portal for researchers or divisions who wish to establish long-term collaborations with DBE faculty and/or staff.
We encourage investigators to contact the BCU at the earliest possible state of their research, in order to establish a collaborative relationship and ensure the best quality results. Insightful analyses are really only possible after thoughtful design and planning.
The BCU supports Cincinnati Children’s vision for healthier children and healthier communities through implementation of the latest statistical methods in all facets of research studies—from study design, to grant/protocol preparation, to statistical analysis, to manuscript preparation. Although our primary function is to provide biostatistical collaboration and consulting primarily to researchers, faculty and staff of Cincinnati Children’s, we also collaborate with other academic institutions, outside entities and investigators to meet their statistical needs.
Journal Club meetings – The Division of Biostatistics and Epidemiology’s Journal Club is held on the fourth Wednesday of each month, usually at 12 noon. Please contact Stephanie Donauer, PhD (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information.
