About Your Video Visit

Cincinnati Children’s offers convenient video visits for you to connect with your child’s provider from your home. You can join a video visit from your smart device or computer. A link with instructions will be emailed to you a day before your scheduled appointment.

Cincinnati Children's accepts all major insurance plans (Visit our Health Insurance Information page.). Typically, the cost for a video visit is the same as an in-person visit. Co-pay, co-insurance and/or deductible amounts apply to video visits, and you may receive a bill for those balances after Cincinnati Children’s bills your insurance carrier. Video visits are covered by Ohio Medicaid and their plans (CareSource, etc.). Most private insurance plans cover video visits, but coverage can vary by employer. If you have questions about your coverage, we recommend checking your summary plan description or contacting your plan to verify if the scheduled services via video will be covered.

During Your Visit

Go to a quiet room in your home with your child, connect to Wi-Fi, and open the email from Cincinnati Children’s. Click on the link to connect to your provider. If prompted, allow the app to access the microphone and camera on your device. You will be placed in a virtual waiting room. Allow 10 minutes for the provider to begin your visit. Call the Center for Telehealth at 513-803-8353 if you experience difficulties downloading the app or you are unable to connect to your visit. Hours of operation are 8 am to 7 pm.
