Obesity and Nutrition
Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is the most common liver disease in the world. Our team investigates the epidemiology, natural history, and pathogenesis of MASLD in children to improve diagnosis with novel non-invasive biomarkers and imaging modalities and to develop better treatments and prevention strategies. We actively collaborate with scientists with expertise in lipid metabolism, immunology and organoid development and with other Divisions, such as endocrinology, cardiology, radiology and surgery.
